"On her wedding day, Grace Kelly gave new meaning to the word icon. Her whole look, from the regal veil to the feminine lace details and the conservative gown, made her an ageless bride."

The inaugural Grace Kelly Film and Cultural Festival officially launched today with a photoshoot in Newport House, where Grace Kelly herself stayed on each of her three visits to Ireland. This year's Queen of the annual Newport Festival, Donna Hester, graciously agreed to model two replica gowns created by local dress-maker Mary Chambers (including that iconic black and white number from "Rear Window"). Donna will also be there to greet you on both the Gala Night and the Hollywood Glamour Night. A selection of photos taken by Boyd Challenger can be viewed on the 'Gallery' page.

Newport House Signature

"You know, I just love Grace Kelly. Not because she was a princess, not because she was an actress, not because she was my friend, but because she was just about the nicest lady I ever met. Grace brought into my life as she brought into yours, a soft, warm light every time I saw her, and every time I saw her was a holiday of its own. No question, I'll miss her, we'll all miss her, God bless you, Princess Grace."
James Stewart (in his eulogy)
